Necklace is 46 cm long
Fanndís drew the name and inspiration for the creation of the jewelry line from the fact that the glass beads are made in the image off glass beads that have been found in archaeological excavations in Iceland from the Viking era. There is something so beautiful and rewarding about recreating what was done here earlier and honoring Iceland's history and traditions in this way.
Fanndís hand makes each glass bead with care over an open flame.
This necklace also has lava beads to underline the softness off the glass beads up against the ruff look of the lava.

Hálsmenið er 46 cm langt
Fanndís dró nafnið og Innblásturinn að sköpun skartgripa línunnar frá þeirri staðreynd að glerperlurnar eru gerðar eftir glerperlum sem fundist hafa við fornleifa uppgröft á Íslandi frá tíð Víkinga. Það er eitthvað svo fallegt og gefandi við það að endurskapa það sem gert var hér áður fyrr og halda í heiðri sögu og hefðum Íslands með þessum hætti.
Fanndís handgerir allar glerperlurnar af alúð yfir opnum eldi og vandar sig við að ná að gera þær sem líkastar upprunalegu glerperlunum sem fundist hafa á Íslandi.
Þetta men er einnig með hraun perlum til að undirstrika mýkt glerperlanna til móts við hrjúfleika hraunsins.
Þar sem tölvur geta sýnt liti með mismunandi hætti getur raun litur glersins verið ögn öðruvísi en myndirnar sýna.
