These glass beads are handmade by the glassblower Fanndís Huld and are a historically correct replica of glass beads that have been found from the time of the Viking period in Iceland.

This type of glass bead has been found during an archeological excavation at Mjóidalur and Sanddalur.
The glass bead is of the type B and dates from the period around 930-1000.
