Pit fired ceramic sculpture with glass. The color pattern in the ceramic is created by the pit firing method so the pattern comes from fire, smoke and organic burnable materials placed in the pit with the pottery. This firing method was used before and after the Viking Age and predates the use of glazing.

Gryfjubrenndur keramik skúlptúr með gleri. Litamynstrið í keramikin er búið til með gryfjubrennsluaðferðinni þannig að mynstrið kemur úr eldi, reyk og lífrænum brennanlegum efnum sem sett eru í gryfjuna með keramikinu. Þessi brennsluaðferð var notuð fyrir og eftir víkingaöld fyrir notkun glerjunar.
